Polyimide, also known as Kapton a DuPont trade name, is a thin, semi-transparent material with excellent dielectric strength. It is also resistant to most chemical acids and bases. Polyimide (Kapton) heaters can handle a temperature range as low as -271°C (liquid helium) and as high as 220°C.

Our typical construction consists of an etched foil element, which is encapsulated between two layers polyimide (Kapton) film.
